Beyond the horizon
Our name means above the horizons. It is also how we measure the work. Not by the contract we close, but by what is still standing, and still working, long after we have left the site.
The work is a trust, not a transaction
We are a contracting company. What we do is judged by what stands after we go, and by whether it still works in ten years. We take that literally, and it is the reason the company is run the way it is.
The values we work by come from our faith. An amanah is something placed in your hands for safekeeping, and you answer for it. A client's project is an amanah. So is the wage of every man on site, the safety of the public who will use what we build, and the word we gave at tender.
In practice that is ordinary and unglamorous. We price what we can actually build. We pay on time. We report a delay the week it happens rather than at the end of the month. We do the part of the work nobody will ever inspect to the same standard as the part they will.
Our three principles say the same thing in plainer language: no egos, extreme ownership, complete honesty.
Where a share of our profit goes
A portion of what this company earns is committed to charitable work every year. It is not a marketing line and it is not conditional on a project going well.
Choosing SFAA is not charity. You get the work you paid for, priced properly, built to specification and handed over with its records. That is the transaction, and it stands on its own.
What we are saying is only this. Part of what the contract earns does not stay in our accounts. It goes to work that has no invoice attached to it.

Above the horizons. A horizon is the limit of what you can see from where you are standing. It is not the limit of what is there.
The company was named for that, and the name sets the standard we are held to. We would like the work to outlast the people who built it. We would rather be remembered as honest than as large.
